Revolutionizing the Academic Course Catalog System
Attendees of the 2008 AACRAO Technology Conference at the
Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel are invited to view a live
demonstration of Leepfrog’s revolutionary course catalog
management system, CourseLeaf. Demos will be given during open
exhibitor hours from July 10th through 11th at booth 210.
Currently used by the University of Iowa to achieve its catalog
management objectives, CourseLeaf enables schools to confidently
oversee and publish accurate, compelling academic catalog editions.
The system is uniquely equipped to blend structured data and
narrative content. Structured data, drawn from a school’s
course database system, delivers the most accurate information
possible. Narrative content, from the school’s experts,
delivers captivating and enlightening course descriptions. The two
are mixed to create a robust and easy to use course catalog which
can be published to any output type including web, print, PDF or
CD-ROM.
The content workload can be delegated to those most knowledgeable
about the courses. Meanwhile, schools can oversee the production to
ensure everything is done on time while upholding its level of
editorial content. Information must be approved by all necessary
editors before reaching publication. Editors can add notes, make
changes, and view changes made by other editors.
Leepfrog has also attempted to make CourseLeaf easier to work into
staffs’ daily routine for a smoother deployment. It
integrates with a schools existing campus authentication system,
leveraging existing account names and passwords. Most campuses can
also use their existing group management system to maintain
internal roles and workflows and establish page authorship.
CourseLeaf is based on technology from the PageLeaf content
management system which has been in use at college campuses for
almost a decade, and has proven its flexibility and ease of use.
The CourseLeaf system is designed to streamline the course catalog
production process, making the catalog easy to revise and publish
across multiple output types, from web to print. While diversifying
catalog management through a simple interface, it centralizes
workflow and editorial control.
Leeepfrog Technologies will be attending the conference as a vendor
and will be available to answer questions about CourseLeaf. The
company will also be giving demonstrations of the newest version of
InstantRapport.
For over a decade, Leepfrog has been an innovative force in web
software for higher education recruitment. Visit Leepfrog this year
at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel and learn about the
newest technologies for building relationships online.
