Leepfrog Technologies Brings InstantRapport Back Home To University of Iowa
Iowa Admissions To Deliver Faster Answers From Real People

Leepfrog Technologies, an Iowa City company providing custom

States, takes their service back home to Iowa this week. The
University of Iowa signed on with Leepfrog Technologies to
implement InstantRapport®. This new system is a managed instant
messenger, enabling University of Iowa admissions employees to
coordinate their actions so that they can handle large numbers of
real-time text-based communications online.

communication device for today's college-bound student, and a
technology that enrollment management can easily and effectively

admissions counselor for the University of Iowa. He goes on to say,

entire outreach staff and prospective students from both near and
far.”
Instant Messaging (IM) has become commonplace for students
between the ages of 16-25 and is also popular with older
generations. It allows multiple conversations to take place
simutaneously without disrupting daily activities, unlike telephone
communications that must be handled one at a time. InstantRapport
performs the same functions as traditional instant messengers, and
solves the logistical issues that have stood in the way of
effectively using standard instant messengers in a help-center
setting.

The Big Ten School is preparing to go live with their new
service this week. As visitors log on to the university’s
website (www.uiowa.edu) an icon
of Herky, the university’s mascot, will appear on selected
pages. Clicking on this icon will connect the site visitors with a
live representative. The icon will change in appearance when
there isn’t a representative currently logged in to receive
instant messages.
