Bands out of History

'Johnny Toast' (from Ames, Iowa) didn't set out to be a wildly popular
local band . . . and it's probably just as well. Johnny Toast never received
the notoriety of other college-town bands seen advertised in bar windows (like
"To Be Announced" or "Quarter Draws"). They played at fairs and a few lucky bars.

Johnny Toast was Rex on guitar, Ross on lead guitar, Jeninne on drums, and Jeannie on bass.
They eventually disbanded, rebanded briefly as "King Vitimen" then
"The Sea Monkeys", but pretty much permanently drifted apart by late '98 (though
fans are still hopeful of an occasional reunion gig).

One of the band's last get-togethers, at a backyard BBQ in Des Moines Iowa. The link on the left isn't to a photo, it's an .mp3 of one of Johnny Toast's original songs, Road Pizza. Right-click on it and save the linked file to your drive before opening it.
Jeninne, the drummer, was in the short-lived "Split Decision", and is currently in Ohio with the too-cool-for-words Stab-O-Matic. Jeninne also has a touch of geek in her, and definitely has a wonderful taste for the weird. Here's her own site.
